SATA AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM (SAS)
Authentication is for any subject the act of
demonstrating one's own identity. In companies and organisations the number of applications, systems and memorised information that require the
user's authentication is growing very quickly: it is now fundamental to speed up the processes that allow to give the access credentials to users, and to do it in view of a constant security. Therefore implementing the access to the domain with a double-level authentication system, i.e. with a
Strong Authentication with pin and physical access key (token USB), certainly increases the security level of the system and simplifies the management of the users. Moreover, it allows the alignment to the local normative requisites (as compelled by the
Italian Law On Privacy - D.Lgs 196/03) and, at an international level, to conform to
Iso 17799/27001 and to the field norms, such as Basilea II or Sarbanes Oxley Act, which compel the adoption of authentication platforms that can guarantee the tracing back of the accesses and the recognition of the users.
Sata Authentication System (SAS)
It is the ideal modular solution for the
users' authentication management within the company's net: it is a system that centralises and manages the processes of authentication, authorisation and access to the net, the working position and the various applications of daily usage, thus providing even the possibility of simplifying the password management by using a
single sign-in module and the
web authentication.
The primary objective we want to purse by using this centralised system for the users management is to simplify both the users' access to the computer system and the management by the net administrators, thus increasing the general security level and at the same time decreasing the costs associated with the management of the users and their identities. To summarise, with this product we are giving the users and the system administrators a new working tool.
Sata Directory Management Module (SDM)
The main motor of the system is within the SDM (Sata Directory Management): from the main administrator console you can manage single or groups of users who enter the net of computers that are set in a domain, by using physical (i.e. token or smartcard) or biometric tools (ex. finger prints, voice, etc.). Moreover, this motor allows to conform to the law on privacy, as it is not bound to the periodical change of password/pin at a centralised level.
SGP Module
In order to further simply the procedures for the access to the applications and the services, you can install the module for the
centralised management of passwords (SGP module): this module allows the users to authenticate themselves to all applications they are authorised to use by typing in a single password/pin and it automatically manages all the procedures for changing password.
SWA Module (WebKey)
Thanks to the SWA module it is possible to
manage with Strong Authentication the access of users to the web applications that are outside the domain, thus increasing the security of the communication between the outside and the inside. This module allows to register the activity of the user when online.
